This week we extended our learning around the human skeleton by using it for our morning sign-in. Students showed me a bone when asked, each morning. We also incorporated some centres this week where students had the opportunity to explore human x-rays on our light table. Some chose to make it into a puzzle and others placed the bones on their friends, seeing if they could find the right spots.
Other centres included learning more about our new teaching of Kinship, practicing number bonds, and wrapping up our spider writing with our short a words. We also continued with “Boom, Clap”.
Our oldest Sprouts are working on sentence structure as they work toward writing their first story.
Our morning story time was focused on business as we move closer to our first Share the Magic Day, on December 10th. The stories shared experiences of child characters starting their first business endeavours and the steps and mindset that was helpful for them. We reviewed what the students absorbed around that focus, and created a list throughout the week. I will use this list to support the Sprouts as they begin brainstorming and creating for The Sprout Store.
It will be Connor’s turn for Mystery Bag on Monday.
