This week started with a wonderful pottery class from the ladies at Pottery Studio London. Our students got to move through the steps of creating a plate or bowl. Pieces will be fired and returned to us by the end of the month. We are all looking forward to seeing the end results!
Students continued to move through their project period centres this week, with focuses on Mythical Creatures, Measurement and Number Sense, Badge Work and our teachings. We reviewed the teaching of ‘Love’ this week and students got to engage in discussion around how they love themselves and others. This was illustrated in their portfolios and shared with their peers during our “dice game”. This game allows the person holding the die to roll and share kind words about the person the die lands on. This was a part of our “Well-Being Wednesday” activities to end our week.
Jude completed his Food Magic and Writing Magic badges this week. He shared both with us today and was feeling very proud! 👏🏼 Way to go Jude!
Jessica came in this afternoon to support Leroy in creating his drum. He did a wonderful job!
After the break we will begin the process of creating our own mythical creatures. In preparation, students have been trying out different ideas with blocks or by crafting. They also took turns leading bingo this week and enjoyed a mild trek with the warmer weather. Lola gave Connor a drawing lesson this week too!
It will be Lola’s turn for Mystery Bag on Monday, March 23rd. This will also be the day of our Spring Equinox ceremony, Leroy’s drum birthing, and the first day of our Chakra Teachings. Please ensure your child has their drum at school on Monday morning.
Have a wonderful March Break!
