We officially welcomed Leroy and his parents Thida and Sandy, to TSOP this week! š
In morning circle, the teaching of āHopeā was introduced with the statement: āI am planting the seeds of the future, today.ā This teaching shares how each choice we make influences the next, with the symbol being seeds. Each idea is a seed that can be planted in our mind and grown with support and action. Outcomes can be fruitful or consequential; and always a lesson. This is some of the discussion we had within circle this week.
The Sprouts continued to explore animals that live over and under the snow, adding to their poster and engaging in literacy extension activities. With this, students have also been exploring animal tracks through a matching activity, bingo and observation outside.
During our afternoon exploration time, the Sprouts created their own dragons in the creation station and then created a home and an entire game for the dragons. They played this game all week, with Connor joining with his block dragon today. They even created a dragon restaurant. There was much opportunity for cooperative play and problem solving.
We will begin discussing this yearās badge work, next week. Wednesday will be Januaryās Spirit Day. Students are welcomed to wear a fun outfit, costume, or pjs. A reminder will be sent out as well.
It will be Leroyās turn for Mystery Bag, on Monday.
