This week we had some extra friends in our class! Jude and Ellanora joined us for a trial week in the Sprout room. Jessica also spent the week with us to observe the Sprout flow in preparation for September. It was a great time! The students loved having a full house.
Jessica taught the group about their Heart Chakra on Monday. Using the sway test, students noticed whether their heart was open or closed. Jessica lead the students through activities to open their heart and balance that chakra energy. She spoke about the importance of self-love, which connected to our teaching of the week: Honesty. This teaching states: “I am me, always, unapologetically.” It encourages children to be themselves and not apologize for it.
We continued our paper making project this week as well. After blending the soaked scrap paper, we used our screen to collect the pulp. Sponges were used to soak up excess water and then sheets were sprinkled with wildflower seeds and left to dry. We will use this paper for a special creation next week!
Amongst centre exploration and free play, we made space to get cookies made for our Spirit Day! Today we celebrated Jessica and Connor for our April birthdays. Students engaged in board games this morning for that added spirit day fun.
Jude finished up his Mythical Creature this week and shared his presentation today.
Lola and Ellanora helped me cutback our class Pothos plant. They explored the root system and we are looking forward to watching our propagations grow new roots. We will then repot.
Tuesday Trek & Recess at the Park
It will be Connor’s turn for Mystery Bag on Monday.
