Sprouts: June 15-17 (Core)

We hosted a magical Badge Ceremony on Monday to honour the students of TSOP. Thank you to all who were able to share in our celebration of learning and growth! We are so proud of all of the Sprouts and Corbin. ☺️ As Corbin is leaving TSOP, we gave him a “drum out” to wish him well on his journey and honour the time he shared with us.

We made space to plan our Spirit Week later in the day, which starts on Monday. Student chose to have a games day, enjoy the splash pad, plan a talent show and prepare for our feast. Jessica and Corbin will join us on Wednesday as well. We are looking for to it!

Throughout the week, students finished up projects such as planting their piece of our class plant “Viney”, to take home. Father’s Day gifts were completed and sent home as well. We wrapped up our learnings around the Great Lakes with identification worksheets and some discussion. The lakes were also added to our Canada map. We found a dead Damselfly on our windowsill and chose to use it as a learning tool; exploring the difference between damselflies and and dragonflies.

Jessica lead us in our Summer Solstice celebration this morning. We sang multiple songs included “Mr. Sun” to call in the new season. Students recalled that Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year. This afternoon we enjoyed a trek.

Students can wear all of their favourite outfits next week for Spirit week! Please send a bathing suit and towel for the Splash Pad on Tuesday.
