With Thursday being a snow day, we certainly had lots of snow to play in!
We started our day in morning circle, sang our songs, discussed what respect looks like, and moved the energy within us as feelings were coming up. We had our animal card meditation and appreciated the messages we received from our animal friends.

After circle we snacked and read Little Owl, a book about a young Owl learning to fly and have confidence in himself. We also remembered our avocado pit sprouting and our cleaning solution from last week with Clementine's and pine needles. We took off the lid and gave a sniff...it smelled like oranges and pine, not vinegar any more! Looking forward to seeing what continue to happen there!
After snack, we popped the rest of the corn kernels off our corn cobs from the garden in the fall. They were all dry and ready and we were able to harvest 1.5L of corn kernels!
We swept the kernels from the floor, grabbed some extra bird seed and ventured outside to make an animal observation space for the outdoor animals. After, we continued on our hike to find rose hips for tea. We played on the ice along the way experimenting with what ice broke easily and discussed why. We came back to the school and snuck back to the coat room quietly to see if any animals had found our treat for them yet. They hadn't....but we know they will! We checked back throughout the day, however, no one had found our gift YET!
After our hike, we made our tea and played restaurant! Leroy made a menu and had me write out the recipe for my lunch, identifying it looked very yummy. I was served some delicious food and then Leroy had his turn. He ordered popcorn and tea, so we made some popcorn from the kernels we removed from the cob earlier. It was delicious!
To end our day we played Blokus, cleaned up and spent time playing with the dollhouse.
Make a great weekend everyone!
