Outdoor Dec 11

Lola and I had a beautiful day designed just for Lola! We began with planning our day and making a list of what Lola's goals for learning today were.

Once we had all the materials out that we needed, we began morning circle with spot on animal card messages!

After circle we read "Little Red Sleigh" while we snacked. After snack we started layering paints on our canvases to paint for the fun of it with no plan.

In between layers of our watercolour paints, we worked with tempura paints to give the dollhouse a nice clean makeover. After removing all the items from the doll house, there was lots of discussion about room colours, murals, wall paper and colours mixed together to see what we could do. We discussed how adding white paint lightens a colour, and how rooms with less light on the lower level could be lighter to make the space feel bigger and brighter.

Between layers of paints in one place then another, we had wait time for the layers to dry. Lola chose to play our dice game for the first time and she won!!!! It was a great way to easily tell which numbers Lola knows just by looking at the pattern on the dice. We also made popcorn and munched on that while we played.

During lunch we read another story, then made our way outside for some tobogganing down the path. We learned that a snowy hill requires more than a few passes before we can go as fast as we want. When we returned near end of day we played make believe together for the remainder of the day <3
