This week the teaching of ‘Courage’ was introduced. We discussed what it meant to be courageous and brave and the importance of letting our intuition guide us. Students shared examples of when they have felt brave and found a handful of examples in our story on Wednesday.
The Sprouts have been loving the “small hill” beside the gate, where they’ve chosen to play most recesses. Within that time, they began to create a hotel within the hill; equipped with rooms, a cafe and even a slide. They thought it would be helpful to have signs for their hotel so I shovelled my way into the shed to retrieve some scrap wood for signs. This week the signs were created and placed in the hotel. The students are very proud!
Signs were one of the things that was worked on during our project period, along with the continuation of bird projects and exploration of number lines and time. More living things were added to our Earth Magic poster as inspiration continues to sprout from books and exploration. Bingo was played with lots of bird stickers won! Oakley is working on creating his own bingo sheet.
With the weather “warming up” a bit, we were able to go on a true trek this week, bringing our binoculars along. Students searched for birds and tree homes. We found multiple tree holes, lots of squirrel nests, a few bird nests and a hawk!
Lola created her Food Magic project this week, allowing us all to snack on some delicious strawberry milkshakes! She did a wonderful job working independently and focusing on the steps of her process. Oakley, Leroy and Lola also presented some badge work posters this week. 👏🏼
It will be Connor’s turn for Mystery Bag on Monday.
