Today was a day full of wrapping up learning and doing what feels best for all.
The morning began with lots of big feelings, and everyone had a different way to move their energy. We enjoyed beautiful sit spots in the sunshine and shared our animal messages.
After circle we read "Leaves" by Robert Munsch and looked all around us to see our big piles of leaves. During free playtime in the yard, I was chosen to be "it" for tag. I got very tired, however the yard was full of squeals of happiness from all.
We headed inside after free play to make hot cocoa for the chilly morning, and finish up the grape jelly. We used lemon seeds and grated apples for our pectin and honey to sweeten. The process took over an hour with friends helping, and we were able to finish the jelly, jar it, taste test it a lot, and water bath it to seal it up. We looked at how the jar lids bowed up and noticed how as they cooled, the lids fell down and would pop! We didn't get to hear it happen though.
After lunch and play inside, we headed out to the park to build shelters, climb trees and play with our Walky talkies <3. Some friends needed to leave early today, so we came back to the yard to play and explore. Our two students left got bored then stepped into curiosity when some magnifying glasses came out. One pile of leaves caught fire and burned right up.
