This week we continued to prep for our sale through song, creation and games. Our project period consisted of coin recognition activities, teaching children the value and names of coins, as well as multiple product making stations. Using the coin sheets we created last week, we made space to sing our “Canada in my Pocket” song, which the Sprouts love. Students also finished creating their advertising posters. We have hung posters up around the school and copies have been sent home to share with your communities. Please check that the poster has “December 10th” on it before sharing as I realized after making the copies that some had missed that important detail. 🙏🏼
We made space for lots of snow play this week; including tobogganing! Our last pumpkin was ready to head outside so before doing so, the students enjoyed hammering golf tees into it. Then we left it out for our animal friends.
Our newest teaching of “Gratefulness” was introduced this week. Our oldest Sprouts continue to work on their sentence structure skills as they prepare to write their first short story.
It will be Barrett’s turn for Mystery Bag on Monday.
*Please support your child in bringing their “Home Bag” back and forth to school. This is the white bag with a coloured zipper. These bags help students carry all of their creations etc., from the classroom to the coat room each day, avoiding multiple trips back and forth. It should be emptied each day after school and put back into their back pack. Thank you!
